Fort Worth Visit

Hi there friends. I’m writing this post from an unexpected trip to my grandparents house. My grandmother hasn’t been doing well and I wanted my children and I to see her before she decides to leave us.IMG_5229 I was named after her and have always had a close relationship with my grandmother. We just love each other to pieces.IMG_3744.JPG

I love visiting their house, it looks like a museum. My aunt who passed away last year left us with many beautiful paintings.IMG_3740.JPG IMG_3742.JPG IMG_3739.JPG IMG_3738-0.JPG IMG_3734.JPG IMG_3731.JPG IMG_3733.JPG IMG_3730.JPG IMG_3729.JPG

My grandfather is a museum docent and an avid art collector.  He mainly collects early Texas art.  Here is a painting we discovered together at an estate sale last summer.IMG_3737.JPG

We had an exciting weekend here with friends and family. My sister’s boyfriend surprised her with a proposal and engagement party.IMG_3714.JPG

I have also been looking through some old photos during my visit.  My grandmother has always been a beautiful and elegant lady.  I found many pictures of her in her younger years.

Wasn’t she a fox?

Well, we are headed back to North Carolina tomorrow morning.  I can’t wait to share with you what I was up to before I left. 😉

  1. Grandparents are precious, truly, and so are their homes, as they are vaults of memories from past lives and from ours.
Cherish your grandmother and enjoy every moment with her while she, indeed, is still in this life. Your aunt’s paintings are beautiful.
    Love,
