DIY Fall Feather Chalkboard Art
Hi there friend. It’s that time of year again! The start of cooler weather, holidays, and all of the good things that come along with the season. The next two weeks you will be seeing Fall DIYs, decorating tips, and a Fall home tour as part of Up to Date Interiors’ Fall Series 2016. Yipee!
DIY Chalk Feather Sign for Fall
Today’s DIY is a Fall Feather Chalkboard Sign, perfect for transitioning into Autumn. No need to carve pumpkins and light the fire yet!
I had so much fun creating this feather art. You can use any flat wood sign, reclaimed wood, or chalkboard you have on hand to make this super quick.

What you need to create this simple DIY Chalk Feather Art:
Wood sign
A picture of a feather or a feather “model”
Step one:
Paint two coats of chalk paint onto the sign. If you don’t have a wood sign to repurpose, try this walnut sign. Let dry completely. (Luckily chalk paint dries fairly quickly!)
Use a feather or looks at pictures of feathers for your guide. Start by drawing the center line. Create an outline and fill in.

Super cute, right? This hangs above my desk so I change it out seasonally although I got a little lazy this summer. 😉
We finally received our PCS orders last weekend! It’s been two long months wondering if our move to mainland Japan would really happen. The great thing about the military moving us, is we don’t have to do too much as far as packing. That means our house will be in Fall mode until they come move us! I might even start on Christmas y’all. The thought of decorating a new house is always fun but I DO love this little Okinawan rental.
