Finding Design Inspiration: Use inspirational photos and these tips to find common elements that will help define your style.

Hello my dear readers.  Yesterday I shared with you 7 Easy Decorating Tips for Renters.  It’s a great guideline to help you get started decorating your temporary abode (or any home!).  They are the first steps I take when we move. Which is frequent.  After living in a space for awhile I start thinking about making small changes by adding more textures and layers with textiles and accessories. I might even consider adding a new style to my eclectic taste.   With our home on a subtropical island I can’t stop thinking about adding a little Mediterranean, Cali-boho style to our mix!

If you are wondering what new elements to add to your space.  Start with finding images that appeal to you.  As you go through a collection of  photos, look for a pattern of colors, wood tones, textures, and other similar styling elements.  Use inspirational photos to find common elements that will help define your style.

I’ve always had an eclectic style pulled by coastal and global influence.  For our new rental, I’m excited to add certain elements from the inspirational pictures.   Mediterranean blue, kilim pillows and rugs, light wood tones, and tropical plants.  Yes please.
