Greetings friend! I’m so sorry I missed last month’s subscriber freebie. We are wrapping up the One Room Challenge this week and I just didn’t have time for anything but projects for the big room makeover last month. To make up for it I’m going to be sharing a bird series for a few months (twice this month!) and we’ll call this one April’s Bird Printable art. 😉

If you’ve been following along the One Room Challenge you know that my inspiration came from a print by Jim Thompson who was a silk textile designer living in Bangkok.
The colors and textures of my inspiration board go so well with all of our Asian finds we brought back from living overseas. Make sure to check in Thursday for the big reveal!!
I loved the post cards I picked up at the Jim Thompson’s house gift shop when we visited Thailand so much that I decided to create a bird series inspired by them.
April’s bird print is this cute yellow bird with some fluttering friends. Subscribers can download and print an 8×10 for their personal use. Have you signed up yet?
Last month updates:
I shared eclectic and glam decorating ideas for an open concept living and dining space infused with bold colors and global style for the One Room Challenge. A six week room makeover from complete renovations to cosmetic updates that feature 20 amazing design influencers and guest bloggers with many sponsors including media sponsor Better Homes & Gardens. It is really the bee’s knees for interior blog challenges and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to participate as a guest blogger again. The design and decorating possibilities are endless for me now that we own a home again.
For the first update of the big makeover I gave an easy tutorial for how to update furniture with peel and stick wallpaper and paint. The piece of furniture was an old display cabinet that my grandfather gave me that I use to old some of my piano music. I also focused on the front of the living area where my piano studio is and what a difference a bold accent wall color can make!
For week three stenciled walls, new light fixtures, and decorating tips for a small dining space went live! Even though this house is bigger than any of our previous homes we sill have a small dining area in our open concept living/dining layout so I had to be creative to get the most out of the space and shared all of the details.
Week four was a huge DIY in the makeover! I had planned on trying a German smear mortar wash and after doing some research I decided to make a few short cuts and ended up transforming our stone fireplace with this easy technique for under $10. I’m so in love with the results and love the focal wall on this side of the living room. It’s so good.
Last week I gave our foyer an update with an elegant wall treatment, new light fixture, painted door, and fresh decor. It really lightened up the area and is a nice balance to the other decor in our main living areas. Check out all of the details of our foyer makeover!
And that catches us up to our final week!! The grand reveal will be Wednesday night/Thursday morning and I can’t wait for you to see it!!
I also shared how an office refresh with a thrifted set of chairs makeover using boho fabric. It’s now a nice backdrop for the One Room Challenge reveal and will one day get a major renovation.
Talk to you soon,
