Organize Your Pantry

There are some gorgeous images of organized pantries but you have to decide if they are practical and functional for your kitchen.  If you are consistently  buying and using the same “staples” and other food items I think it is great to have them in matching containers with labels. We, however, are not that way.

Option 1: If your pantry is a mess, organize your pantry goods into sections or categories; baking items, breakfast foods, snacks, canned goods, pasta, and such…  Then call it a day!

Option 2: If it is somewhat already organized but you want to use the space to its best advantage, add baskets or bins to corral your smaller items.

My Outcome:  Our pantry was already organized but had a lot of little bags of different food items.  All I did was make a trip to the dollar tree and picked up 6 bins to better organize what we have.

In its past life, our pantry was the  laundry closet so it is quite deep.  I am able to also store my table linens, platters, candles, and other items in there too.

PicMonkey CollageI hope you are inspired enough to at least take 20 minutes to make your pantry more organized and functional this weekend.  (Unless you are already the Queen of organization!)

Have a wonderful weekend friends!

    1. Thanks Amanda! I can’t for us settle somewhere so we can finally have a home to really fix up. Then, I will have an organized and pretty pantry! It nice to have things corralled in baskets. I’m glad it inspired you to do a little more to yours. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great weekend.

  1. I am insanely jealous of how large your pantry is in comparison to mine. We live in an apartment and our pantry is very small. With an Elfa shelving system on the back of the door and baskets/other organizing tools inside the pantry itself, it still seems like we don’t have enough space. Thank you for the tips! I’m going to have to see if I can use them to make our pantry feel more roomy and organized!

    1. LOL, I wish I could trade our master closet with the pantry…. Sounds like yours is organized already! Do you put pantry items in your cabinets too? Our last house didn’t even have a pantry so everything was in the cabinets and garage. Good luck with finding more room! If you have any vertical space, maybe stacking bins/baskets would help (that have an open front)? Thanks for stopping by Teresa!

      1. Ah…I agree! Our master closet would make an amazing pantry! haha I actually do use some cabinets to store things in, which is great, but I wish I didn’t have to. I can’t wait to have a house with an actual pantry (that is a must-have on my list!). I definitely have room for some vertical storage, thank you so much for the tip! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I have all about organizing and beautifying my bathroom and closet, but didn’t even think about my pantry. Gonna peruse my local Target for some pretty baskets! Thanks for the ideas!

    1. Great idea Dionne!! I miss having a Target close by (or any store for that matter) ;( They always have great bins and baskets. Thanks for stopping by and have fun shopping!!
