Hello, hello!  We are back from canoeing/camping and only had one near encounter with an alligator.  One too many. 🙂  What did you do for Memorial weekend?  I hope it was pleasant and a time of reflection for our fallen heroes.

Well, I have been saving a special treat for you today!  I had the opportunity to review a wonderful home decor and inspirational lifestyle book.  I enjoyed it so much that  I bought a copy for one of my readers. 😉

The Nesting Place

by Myquillyn Smith

I am already familiar with this popular blogger and self taught decorator so I was immediately drawn into her book.  Myquillyn has a fantastic outlook on home decor and home living that she makes clear in her tagline.  “It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.”   Most decor books I scan through, admire the pretty pictures, and not pay much attention to the writing.  The Nesting Place captivated me with Myquillyn’s story and her decorating revelations that any woman can apply to her home.  We have a common thread, both of us are renters and we both believe that you have to get over the fear of putting holes in your walls!!  Go ahead and make your house beautiful whether you own it or not.  She also has a wonderful way of showing us that living in our homes is what we are meant to do and that it can be beautiful.  We shouldn’t stress or apologize if everything isn’t perfect all of the time. The Nesting Place may inspired you to rethink how you decorate and not to obsess over having a perfect house but find joy in having a lived in, “used” space.  It did for me.

Myquillyn’s inspirational words and low cost decorating ideas are paired with gorgeous pictures that you will enjoy time and time again.
