The Best of October
I tell you what, Autumn is flying by. I can’t believe the moving trucks are coming in just a month and a half. My family and I are celebrating Christmas and my sister’s wedding in TX so I have been up and down on what decor I want to use for the holidays this year. Nothing like a move half way across the world to put things into perspective. Lucky for me, I’m a little OCD about purging and organizing so I’ve been having a great time. 🙂
Just in case you didn’t know, hubby is in the Marine Core and we have orders for Okinawa, Japan. The military only allows us to take about 30% of our belongings so we’ve been getting rid of things and prioritizing the rest. It’s a great time to have a Home Decor/DIY blog. 😉
The Best of October
In case you missed anything from last month, here are some of my favorites.
The most exciting thing that happened last month was when Ursula from Hand Made by Carmona asked me to join in on the Organize Me Pretty home tour! I couldn’t believe my little ol’ blog would be part of something with so many of my favorite DIY bloggers. AWESOME!
I’ve been obsessed with dark wall colors the last year and it seemed to be an appropriate time last month to share with you why in a Moody Rooms collection. I’m dying to paint a powder room or dining room in a deep, saturated color.
Inspired by Fall and the hopes of cooler weather, I gave tips on getting a bang for your buck with inexpensive flowers for your home. Of course, an awesome pumpkin roundup had to be done for October!
Posts just for the holiday! A tutorial for my DIY pumpkin tree. West Elm knock-off black cake stand with supplies from the Dollar Tree. I recycled some snakes from my snake wreath last year for these simple DIY snake napkin holders. I loved how they turned out on a beautiful black and white table setting with gold accents.
Last, my Witches Tea Party. How to host a Witches Tea with a witches brew recipe and free printables so you can host one next year.
Wow, what a month. I would also like to add that I lost my grandmother during this time. She was a beautiful and amazing woman with whom I shared about a little here and here. I love that my grandpa has so many pictures of her in her younger years.
One last thing. My talented, sweet friend Linda, who was also our guest speaker at the SGBC NC meet up, is featuring a new series on her blog, Be the Woman. Guess who her first interview is with? 😉 I would love for you to go look around her site, Linda Mendible, if you haven’t had the chance yet. You will be amazed at her story, talents, and successes.
What a month indeed! How lucky that you have such a great outlet for your upcoming move 😉 LOVED the posts this October!
