Patriotic Table Setting
A fresh and modern patriotic table setting with items from the dollar store and a quick and easy DIY for eclectic style.
Well hello there! Missed you yesterday. The kiddos have been sick and I’ve been feeling my twin’s illness. Literally! They say the further apart twins are the more they feel from each other.
So any-who, I was going to photograph our master bedroom for you but that can wait until next week now. I did however made a quick trip to the 100 yen store (dollar store) and put together a fun Patriotic Table Setting. YAY!
A Fresh and Modern Fourth of July Table
I found some pretty floral plates that had red, white, and blue (and green), sparklers, and red polka dotted washi tape.Of course, any excuse to use my pretty plastic stemware. LOVE these cups. I cut strips of fabric leftover from my living room cushions and tied my gold silverware (also from the yen store otherwise known as the best place ever!!) to a couple of sparklers. Do you recognize the Ikea napkins? One of the many stores I miss living in Japan. I found another use for washi tape (you can find my other uses here and here). I wrapped a piece around each straw and cut a little triangle out to make a flag. The rest of the sparklers are resting on the centerpiece. We might be “testing” a few tonight. My family and I will actually be flying into Kyoto on July 4th anyways. Speaking of flying, I’m headed to Tokyo for the weekend with one of my friends. Super excited. I also met a group of Okinawan bloggers last night at a dinner. It’s been an exciting week. Enough chit chat for today, I gotta go pack! 😉 Make sure to check out my summer page full of DIYs, decorating tips, and printables for the season.

I love the patriotic spirit, even though you are across the globe! (I can imagine IKEA being one of the major stores you miss!)
Thanks Jenny!!
