Pompom garland (for $3) and other updates!
Create pom pom garland for under $3 with supplies from the dollar store and other easy global eclectic updates for a girl’s room.
I hope you had a wonderful Easter! We spent a lot of time outdoors discovering castle ruins, hunting for eggs, and finding new places to eat. I also started a DIY project from h*?!. Seriously. Remember the free kitchen table set I came across? Well, I decided to start painting it this weekend. I thought I found the right kind of paint and supplies but the Japanese painting supplies here are WAY different. Three days later, 3 trips to the store, and I still haven’t finished painting… (I’m sure it help if I could at least read the label!!) More about that later. In the meantime, I took a break from painting to make some fun pompom garland with my daughter for her room.
This is super easy to do and is a fun way to dress up a kid’s space.
Supplies:
Pompoms (I bought little ones from the dollar store)
Embroidery thread
Scissors and needle
To make the garland, just thread your needle and string on pompoms. If you want them to stay in place (do at least the ends!), loop the thread around a second time.
I thought the garland would dress up the government issued bed like this.
After I added the bedding I realized they would be better placed higher on the wall.
One corner of the room is officially finished (for now!). You can find the plans for the entire room here.
Back to painting!
