Shopping, Eating, and Seeing in Tokyo
Hi friends. I’m trying my best to stay on top of projects but honestly (as with most of us during the summer I think!) they tend to hit the back burner or at least take a little longer. I do however have a few beautiful images that I wanted to share with you from my trip to Tokyo. If you missed a Tokyo museum from a Decorator’s perspective, you can find it here.) I was only there for the weekend but we took in a lot of sites. We followed an awesome itinerary that my friend had planned but we just happened to stumble upon this beautiful Shinto Shrine.
Since it was just three of us ladies on the trip, we also got away with lots of shopping. 🙂 I couldn’t get enough of pretty dishes.
So many great patterns and colors.
I love using Japanese cups for little plants and utensil holders.
I’m more of a coffee drinker right now but this little tea pot is so pretty!
The little bowls and dishes (used for soy sauce and other condiments) are great for holding jewelry and other trinkets.
Utensil rests are just smart!
There’s also a store in Japan called Franc Franc. We actually have one in Okinawa but I haven’t been there yet. 😉 The one in Tokyo had a lot of great finds with decent prices. It has more “western style” decor so it was a nice treat.
“Good bag take you good places!”
Of course, the food there was amazing. Here are couple of my faves. A little Phillipino Dim Sum resturant with the prettiest interior.
A French beach cafe located at the busiest intersection in the world, Shibuya Station (also where Hachi the dog is from and where we lost my friend’s mom. Classic.)
Yep! An actual “beach” in the restaurant.
Well that was a random assortment of pics. I hope you enjoyed seeing a little of Tokyo. We are planning our trip to Kyoto next!
Loved the pics from Tokyo
Thanks! You should visit. 🙂
Lovely photographs! I always love seeing how different people capture a city, and from a decorators perspective it looks great! 😀
So sweet of you to say Chanel! Your comment made my day. 🙂
Kathy – Your trip looked amazing! What a beautiful place! And all of those little blue bowels are so cute! I have such a soft spot for blue anything! It really looks like you had the trip of a lifetime even though it was only one weekend! Thank you so much for sharing at Dream. Create. Inspire. Link! I hope we’ll see you again this week!
Cat
Thanks Cat! It was an amazing weekend. I’m already planning on going back with my family. 😉
Fun! We are hoping to hit up Tokyo later this year and I can not wait! Where is this Franc Franc store in Okinawa? looks neat!
It’s in Naha somewhere. Still haven’t been. 🙁 Wanna go shopping?
Can I get in on this shopping trip too??
Um, yeah! Actually, we should plan a shopping trip. 🙂
