Transitioning from Halloween to Thanksgiving
Use these simple DIYs and decorating tips for chic and inexpensive decor to transition from halloween to Thanksgiving in three easy steps!
Ah! The tricky month where you have about three and half weeks of transition decor. It’s not Halloween, a little past Fall and of course, Christmas is right around the corner. What do you do?
Transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving in 3 Easy Steps!
Hide your goblins and skulls, keep out your pumpkins and pops of black and white!
Transitioning tip #1: Work with what you already have out.
Leave in place any halloween vignettes you have created. Just replace the spooky stuff with pumpkins, pinecones, and feathers or anything that feels like Autumn/Thanksgiving to you. Hunt your backyard for supplies to keep it free!
Transition tip #2. Add in a little winter texture and color.
Furs, velvet throws and pillows, and rustic elements will bring your decor around closer to Christmas. Eek!! That’s the second time I’ve used that word! Too soon?
Swap textiles from other rooms or update a pillow by wrapping a scarf around it.
Aren’t those pillows a hoot? That’s Tom and Harry. They are fabulous Jules Pansu pillows (a fancy tapestry from France) and I got them for a steal in Japan. Your decor should make you smile!
Transition tip #3: Add in a simple quote or sign
to literally let guests know you are up to speed!
A simple chalkboard sign is such an easy way to display a seasonal message and you can use it all year!
Just a few tweaks here and there will get you ready for the next holiday.
I hope inspire you to make a quick and easy transition! Do you have any tips to add?

I need these tips before I went crazy and boxed up all of Halloween. Now I have empty shelves with minimal decor cause I’m not sure I want to decorate for a couple weeks. I will probably just go for the big no-no… put up Christmas already 🙂
lol, I’ve been trying to restrain myself from Christmas but I think I’m doing my first project tomorrow. We do have to stay on top of the holidays!! 😉 It does feel good to box up things though.
