Handmade Christmas Decor-Day 2
Hello my friends! Today’s DIY is super easy and a fun craft to do with the kids. Since my Christmas decor is simple and a little on the modern side, I wanted to make tall, slender paper trees for my bookcase.
Folks, all you need is card stock and wine corks. Tools: ruler, pencil, scissors, knife, and glue.
How to assemble:
Measure and trace out a triangle (I started with 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide and then varied it for my other trees.)
Cut out two triangles (My nifty little craft scissors per my husband’s suggestion were used.)
Cut a slit half way up the middle of one, and half way down the middle of the second. Slide the two triangles together to form an X.
Use a serrated knife and cut an X in a wine cork about 3/4 of an inch deep.
Slide your tree into the cork, glue the tips at the top so that they stay in place.
voilà!
I think I need more!! =)
The great thing about this project is that you can use pretty craft paper or have the kids decorate the trees. You can be as creative as you want!
Have a great day,
