An Eclectic Early Fall Home Tour
Use an inspiration photo and color palette to shop your house for Fall decor in this fun and unique way to change up your house using what you already have for the season.
For this Autumn season, I decided to create an inspiration color board for DIYs and decor. It incorporates colors that I already use in my home so I didn’t have to shop for new items! I just did some pillowing swapping and added a few Fall elements to get our home ready for early Fall.
Here’s the inspiration photo from an Eddie Ross inspired table setting. Aren’t the colors lovely?
And here’s how the colors translated into Fall decor. (If your curious how it looked before, you can check out our Japanese home tour HERE.)
I mentioned last week the only “Fall” decor I brought with us when we moved to Japan were my velvet pumpkins. I picked up some fresh flowers and a heirloom pumpkin from a local farmer’s market to add the seasonal touches.
Faux moss garland from the dollar store is attached with push pins to our mantel. It could really work for any holiday so I’m sure you’ll see it again!
The insect taxidermy I picked up at a little antique store in Dallas last month. I have no idea what kind of bug it is but the pattern on the it’s back looks like a face. I think he’s cool…
I haven’t shared my office space yet because it’s crammed into the corner of our small living room but I managed to capture it in these shots. Welcome to my tiny office!
The office is really a breakfast bar but we had to get creative with the space. Our Japanese media cabinet was too big for the living area but it blends in quite well with the wood on this side of the room and sort of works as a built in for office supplies.
These little wood pumpkins came from Okinawa. They are sitting next to a dollar store DIY confetti vase filled with autumn hues.
I love the deep garden window sills in this house! A perfect spot for plants and accessories. I get so much sunlight in my office nook! It’s wonderful.
You can really see how small this space is! Here’s the other half of the living room standing behind the sofa.
For such a small square footage, it really is a great little house. Infuriating sometimes but I love the challenge of making it functional and beautiful!
A few small velvet pumpkins tucked into the bookcase decor! The existing styling works so well for Fall already.
