Outdoor Living Area: Furniture Makeover
Greetings friends! I have been busy preparing our screened in porch for summer evening dinners and relaxation. Furnishing a room is all about repurposing furniture and splitting up sets. Then you don’t get a “room out of a box” look.
Outdoor Living Area: Furniture Makeover
The dining area on our porch has pieces from three different sets. We have a wrought iron bench that sat in the front of the house. Similar to this one.
She got a makeover with a couple of coats of Rustoleom spray paint and some out door cushions from Garden Ridge and Lowes.
What a difference! I split up our wrought iron bistro set (our first kitchen table 10 years ago) and placed the two chairs on the other side. They were painted with the same aqua paint I used on our front door. Seriously, you can paint just about anything!
The ratton table set I found on Craigslist last year for $45. The chairs I reupholstered (you can read about that here) and painted for the dining room. The table is the perfect size for the porch and is made to be outside. It’s a win win. Isn’t the wood tone pretty and such a nice contrast to the white and aqua?
I’m thinking about planting a succulent garden in this planter from Anthropologie. Even I splurge every now and then. lol It was actually not a bad price at $20. 😉 The shells are from our beach.
So, just about every house out here on the Isle, has a name. Last week I was visiting one of my favorite consignment boutiques and found this sign handmade by a local resident. It’s official, our house (at least while we are here) is now the Sand Dollar Inn! Come visit some time. 🙂
We enjoyed dinner out here last night. I will be finishing up the rest of this area this week.
Thanks for stopping by!
