Touring Blogland
Greetings friends!! Today is a little something different. I was asked to participate in a tour through Blogland by my friend and fellow blogger Carmody from Paper and Fox. It’s a little peek into lives of bloggers so that you can learn a little more about them. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Paper and Fox, you can check out her tour here.
Welcome, come on up!
Come inside and make yourself comfortable!
We live about half a mile from the ocean on the coast of North Carolina in this cute beach rental. It is only 1400 square feet but is split up into three levels. The kids bedrooms and bathroom are on the top.
The main floor has our living, dining, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom. Our bedroom is one of my favorite rooms and has undergone the most change.

You can see the rest of the house here. 🙂
My sweet little family includes my husband, our 4 yr old daughter, 8 yr old son, and Misha, our mutt.
We absolutely love living on Emerald Isle and spend a lot of time at the beach, hiking, and clamming.
When I’m not blogging, working on projects, or playing with the kiddos, I teach, accompany, and perform as a classical pianist and organist. I also teach my little ones.
The Four Questions of Touring Blogland
1. What am I working on?
This last weekend I worked on styling and staging a couple of different spaces. Here is a sneak peek of an upcoming post.
I’m also in the middle of a few handmade decor projects, furniture makeovers, and purging for our upcoming move. The next couple of weeks will be the start of my Fall series.
2. How does my work differ from those in my genre?
It’s actually all fun and no work! There are so many fantastic DIY/Home Decor bloggers out there and I’m sure we share a lot of similarities. Something that I offer that I haven’t seen anywhere else is Love Your Space series. It is a month long challenge featuring a quick 20 minute makeover daily. There will be a new series every January. You can check out this year’s here.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Well, I have always loved being creative. I’m an obsessed with decor and color. For the most part I am self-taught but have taken a few interior design, art, and color classes for fun. Besides being a musician, I was serving in the Army when I met my husband. After 5 military moves, I decided to keep a record and share projects of where we are currently living. Now it is turning into something more than just a hobby and I am excited about future possibilities and the flexibility of blogging.
4. How does my writing/creative process work?
Ha! Well, when it’s not summer and I actually am keeping a consistent schedule, I use a blog planner. Right now, I am flying by the seat of my pants. I do have an on-going list of projects and inspiration. Around the holidays I enjoy doing week long series of handmade decor. A part from a weekly link up party and a Weekend Reflections post, anything decor, design, or DIY related are my happenings.
