Eclectic Winter Wreath

|

How was your halloween?   Our kids had a great trick or treating experience on the military base.   It was fun seeing so many front doors and patios decked out for the holiday!   Now that November is here, I think it’s safe to start planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Wahoo!

My talented friend Ariel from PMQ for Two organized another Eclectic Wreath hop to inspire your next door hanging.  (Scroll down to find 20+ wreaths and links!) I literally put mine together while the movers were in our house but I can’t wait to hang it on our new rental door.

DIY Winter Eclectic Wreath

This simple DIY is perfect for that wrought iron wall hanging you have lying around.   If you need one, places like Hobby Lobby and Amazon are a great place to look.  I recycled faux greenery from my Fall Eclectic Wreath and used left over leather cord from my DIY napkin rings to make this project cost effective.

Supplies for door hanging:

Gold spray paint

Wall hanging

Faux Greenery

Feathers

Leather cord

Put it together:

Spray paint your wall hanging with 1-2 light coats of metallic paint.

Bunch together fuax greenery with a feather or two and secure with a floral tie to the wall hanging.

Cover the floral tie by wrapping leather cord around the stems.

Transform wrought iron wall art into a holiday wreath!

Check out how I used the same wall hanging to make a rosemary wreath for Christmas!

  1. This is so cool! I actually gasped when it landed in my inbox! I love that you also recycled elements from your fall wreath! I did too ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I love your wreath Kathy!!!! The gold base is just perfect and I like the way you recycled your greenery. I recycled part of my fall wreaths when creating my holiday wreaths.

  3. Yay, you got the place!!! I love your wreath and you are so smart to not use a real holiday wreath. I love it!!! I need to start thinking outside of the box. That wreath will look awesome on your new front door and the gold will give it a nice POP!

  4. I love the idea of taking a basic wall hanging and turning it into a wreath! What a super way to repurpose something basic. Love what you did!
