Hi there. How are you today? I just shared my subscriber new printable last weekend which included a sneak peek of today’s DIY for The Global Styler. I’ve been doing some Anthropologie inspired DIYs with inexpensive supplies and decided to use one for this monthly series.

Anthropologie Inspired Planter

Do you have a 100 yen store close to you? I know they are popping up everywhere in the states now! It’s my go-to place in Japan for DIY materials.

Here’s what I used for the planter.

Japanese tea cup (from Dais0)
Soy dish (from Daiso)
Gold craft paint and brush (this metallic gold paint has lasted me for years!!)
Washi tape
Hot glue gun and sticks (or glue specific for glass and ceramic.)

How to DIY your own global planter.

Tape off the edge of the tea cup with washi tape leaving a cm of room.
Paint the rim with gold metallic paint. Remove the tape right after so it doesn’t pull off dry paint.

Glue the base to the soy cup (upside down). Just a warning, hot glue will hold if you don’t handle it often but something stronger (like epoxy) would be better in the long run.
