Beautiful Blue Hallway Runner and Gold Light and Hardware Ideas
Our hallways are getting a refresh this month and I’m narrowing down choices for blue hallway runners and light and hardware this week.
Howdy! Welcome back to the New Year New Room Refresh hosted by Casa Watkins Living where 12 bloggers are making over a room in four short weeks. I shared that I was turning our long dark hallway and adjoining short hallway from the foyer into a colorful gallery area. The biggest project is adding decorative molding to the walls.
I reached out to my contractor last week and luckily he was able to come over and start yesterday and we are finishing it all today! Since I’m helping he was also able to work with our budget which is fantastic.
I originally planned on installing board and batten or even wainscotting but after seeing this beautiful picture from Kylie M. Interiors decided on chair molding with extra trim below it. This still has the same aesthetic I want but cuts down material and labor costs.
The next step is to finalize the fun stuff! Paint color, rug runners, new light fixture, and door hardware. Here are some choices I’m considering for the runners. I need three of them and they will all be the same as opposed to what we had in the hallways.
- Apeley Navy Medallion 2. Floral Ornametal Blue 3. Floral Elizabeth in Blue 4. Navy Radley 5. Amstel Runner in Navy
I selected my favorite wider runners, 2’6″x8′ from Mohawk Home, and am leaning towards the first two with the wall colors I have in mind. It just so happened that all of my selections primarily feature blue. Depending on the rug selection I may go with blue paint as I love using tone on tone so much. I hope to use rug pads from Mohawk Home to keep the rugs in place and add extra cushion.

Last week I mentioned I wanted to finish up our master bedroom and bathroom door touch up paint and fresh paint while we were working on the hallways. I’m happy to report my husband and I got most of that done! We just have a door to paint.
Here’s the to-do list:
I’m happy with the first week’s progress and feel like we got a really good start for once!

- Install chair rail and extra trim
