Best of April {2015)

Today’s an exciting day for our family.  I’ve mentioned that my husband has been “traveling.”  He’s been gone 8 weeks but he’s coming home in a few hours.  He’s arriving three weeks earlier than expected, so we are surprising the kids.

I can’t believe it’s already May and we have been in Okinawa for a little over three months now.  I’m driving like a pro on the left side of the road, communicating more and more with the locals, and my kids are settled in their new school.   I’ve made a lot of new friends and have picked up some new hobbies too!

Now let’s get down to business.  In case you’ve missed anything this last month.  Here is the Best of April.best-of-april

Being a renter, I love the challenge of making an impact with wall treatments without making holes!  Washi tape and decals took a large part in decorating this month.

The upstairs bathroom was completed this month and this post if full of Frugal Decorating Tips and DIYs.

I had a lot of fun putting this mood board together for a client.  She was a dream to work with and also a fellow military spouse.  You can read more about it here.

My absolute favorite from last month is our bathroom tour.  My sweet neighbor/photographer shot the room for me.  She captured all of the little quirks that make this Japanese bath unique.  The space had a few eye sores but it turned out pretty and relaxing.

DIY

I promise I was busy last month with a lot of DIYs.  I just haven’t completely finished them.  😉

I did have a blast creating printables including a tutorial on how to create text with an image background for a sponsored post with Graphic Stock.  (Btw, there are two weeks left for a chance to win one year of royalty free graphics!)

What’s coming next!

I mentioned some DIY!

You can expect to see some awesome diys for creating a rental kitchen in your own style including cabinet and appliance makeovers.

Furnishing on a budget.

A couple of more room tours coming up in May.

Do you have any to-dos for your home this month?
