Hi there friend! Let’s talk Christmas ornaments today, shall we? My friend Ariel from PMQ for Two put together a fun blog hop featuring all sorts of eclectic ornaments. If you are coming from The Striped House, welcome!! I’m sharing this year’s Christmas tree next week so today I wanted to share my favorite store bought, DIY ornaments, and my ultimate ornament wishlist!
Eclectic Ornaments of Christmas
store bought
Since we’ve been in Japan for a couple of years, I haven’t seen too many Christmas decorations in stores but I did find a few in a popular chain store called Nitori. Luckily they seem to be up on the trends and had all sorts of woodland creatures and beautiful baubles in feminine colors.
My husband picked out fun fur ornament balls.
I picked out an assortment of pink and merlot colored ones.
They looked gorgeous on the tree last year and I can’t wait to show you what I mixed with them this year!
Eclectic Ornaments of Christmas
DIY
A few years back I used inspiration from Kate Spade to revamp some old ornaments with paint and gold tape. They looked great hanging on white spray painted branches from the yard.
More recently, I updated some pretty matted brown ornament balls with ribbon tape from the 100 Yen store to add more eclectic flare to the tree.
Because I love ya, here’s a little peak at our tree this year. π
Aren’t those shutters super cute? I love all the character this traditional home has.
Okay, so on to my ultimate wish list for ornaments. I had some fun looking online for these beauties!

I am always amazed how you incorporate an ethnic flair into your decor. You do it with so much ease and it is truly inspiring. I love all the ornaments, but that red geo one has me like ooooh!
Aw! Thanks Jess. I love those red ones too. They came from the only Japanese store that carries Christmas decor (and not very much of it).
