Hi there. Have you been enjoying all the pretty spring tablescapes this week? I’m so ready for sakura season here in Japan!
It’s time for our second post for the Best Renters Hacks. If you are new to the series, it is a monthly collaboration of DIYs and decorating tips for a different spaces in your home shared by home decor/DIY bloggers who are experienced renters. Last month we focused on the living room and today we are sharing our best tips and tricks for the bedroom.
Just like any other space in your rental home, try not to focus on the things you can’t change (like the ugly linoleum floors, outdated carpet, or ugly wall coverings) but use some rental friendly design tricks to make the space beautiful and functional.
Update the ceiling fixture. Hire an electrician if you feel uncomfortable doing it yourself. You may be able to just update the shade! Here, I got creative with a shell hanging and strung it over a pendant light.
Add interest with different textures and plants.
Using these rental friendly ideas in your bedroom will help keep the focus on the beautiful things in your space instead of on undesirable materials that we can’t change.
I can’t wait to see what helpful renter hacks my friends shared! Will you join me?
