Love Your Space Challenge #6
Change your Bedroom Textiles (bedding)
Option 1: Switch out throw pillows from other rooms for a new look, add a throw blanket or extra quilt at the foot of the bed because baby it’s cold outside.
Option 2: Bring in warm colors with patchwork quilts and pillows to bring in a cozy cabin feeling for this cold weather.
My outcome in the master bedroom: Our handmade winter quilt that we picked up on Sky Line Drive in the Appalachian Mountains is on our bed for the season and I “shopped” the house for a throw pillow to tie in the colors of the bedside table with the quilt.
My outcome in our daughter’s room: Layers of blankets but fewer pillows for easier management.
Have you already added extra layers to your bedding due to the cold weather? Are you ready to switch out or add a couple of throw pillows? Let me know!

Ohh, I like this. My word for the year is love and even something as simple as loving your space is great

I love this challenge that you’re doing around your own home, Kathy, and this is definitely something I need to do in my house, too. While our bedding has recently changed, and we’ve got lots of layers on the bed due to the cold, it’s time to start thinking of changing up the bedroom furniture/making a headboard for us since ours was broken by the movers nearly a year and a half ago!
I love how you changed things up in your own room and your daughter’s space!
Kathy says
Thanks Erin! Sounds like you have a plan for the headboard, would love to see pics when you are finished! I know all about movers breaking stuff. Argggg…..

Next time I decorate my house I’m referring back to all of these posts! I love them! I love everything about the top bedroom. Can you come decorate my house please?! 😉
Kathy says

Your bedroom looks fabulous! it’s warm, confortable, inviting, a perfect room for cold weather. And your daughter’s room is perky and refreshing amidst the blight winter.
Kathy says
What a sweet comment Joanna! My husband sure was excited about the dark sheets (and the fact that I removed the purple duvet cover) on our bed. lol
Rachel says
These are great ideas for making the space cozier! Perfect for this polar vortex we’re experiencing!
Kathy says
Yeppers! Thanks for the comment Rachel! 😉

I currently put two dressers in our master bedroom! Our room is massive and it is a way to fill the space 🙂
Kathy says
That’s awesome!! I have been wanting to do that forever. What a great idea.
