How to Set a Beautiful Apres Ski Party Tablescape
Try this fun winter entertainment idea for your next dinner party. Set up an apres ski party inspired table with decor, food, drink, and game ideas.
Hey there! I’m taking a break from a major room refresh to join 15 other women in an apres ski themed entertaining ideas hosted by my friend Ariel at PMQ for Two. If you were around last year, I shared a cozy ski lodge style table.
This year I decided to take advantage of our “new” dining room furniture and show off a glam and chic winter ski table and bar cart. If you are coming from Jaime Costiglio’s pretty home, welcome! We are a recently retired military family and in a new-to-us 70’s style ranch.
Apres Ski Party Tablescape Decor and Entertainment
(and dining area tour!)
Apres ski means social and entertainment activities after a day of skiing. We may not be having snow yet this winter but it has been super windy and cold so I can definitely get in the spirit of a cozy evening of snacks, libations, and games!
Food and Drink Ideas for an Apres Ski Party:
- Clam chowder with rolls
- Popcorn and nut mix for snacking
- Hot toddys or infused blueberry and cinnamon vodka
I moved our bar cart from its usual spot to keep drinks and games at arms length from the dining table. Candles and a lit fireplace are a must on a cold night!
Aspres Ski Party Decor Ideas:
- Bottle brush trees
- DIY clay miniature skis
- Layered table runners
- Gold candle holder
- Pottery in mixed styles
I had fun creating some miniature snow skis out of modeling clay. I’ll share the DIY later on. It was just a happy coincidence that I found bottle brush trees on clearance after Christmas and had not put them away in the attic with the rest of the holiday decor yet!
Just last month we had our very large wood farmhouse dining table set in this small space but my grandfather found a romeo rega style table for a STEAL at an estate sale recently.
I found a love seat but still looking for some mid century modern chairs for the rest of the seating. It’s so much better than the heavy wood and definitely fits our eclectic global style better.
Our dining space is between the kitchen and living room. I prefer a formal dining room but after living in small rentals in Japan this feels spacious. The asian eterge was recently moved from behind the piano to the dining space and it fits beautifully.
You can see how it easy it is to throw an apres ski themed party with a few drink and food ideas and board games for after dinner entertainment. What a fun way to enjoy a cold night in! Make sure to pop in tomorrow for more ideas or go through the list below.
