Easy decorating ideas for a teenage boy bedroom refresh with Rooms to Go Kids and eclectic furnishings and decorating accessories.
Our son’s room always seems to be the last to get a makeover when we move into a new house. I’m not sure why that is except that boys seem to be harder to decorate for! Well all of that changed when Rooms to Go Kids offered me a chance to choose some furniture for a quick bedroom refresh just in time for school.
This was my first time shopping at Rooms to Go and what a nice experience it was. The showroom was impressive, the staff very helpful and friendly, and delivery with set up within a few days made the whole process so easy.
As soon as I was aware of a collaboration with Rooms to Go Kids, I knew I wanted to try a “gentleman’s lounge” eclectic style. I looked at their many bed options online and fell in love with a kids Alena Brown 2 Pc Twin Upholstered bed. I mean with a tufted winged headboard, how could you go wrong? It was gorgeous!
My husband and I made the trip out to the store and showroom and they had a similar daybed with the style and fabric choice I was interested in. Faux leather can be tricky but right away I spotted the swatch and knew it was the right choice. The feel of the fabric is very soft and the tufting made it look very high end without a big price tag.
Our helpful floor saleswoman helped me pick out a mattress and geometric burgundy lamp. I was able to take advantage of an amazing mattress sale with a buy one get one free so our daughter can enjoy a more comfortable bed now.
If you haven’t shopped at one of their stores yet, The in store process was easy and convenient. The saleswoman had an iPad to keep track of availability, delivery dates, and overall costs.
The delivery truck gave us the delivery window and arrived at the earliest time. The two men were in and out in twenty minutes and had the bed set up with mattress and board. They were very careful walking through the house and used drop cloths.
It was very nice to have someone do all of the work! The bed in person did not disappoint and my teenage son loves it. To give the room an eclectic gentlemen’s lounge style I dressed the bed with global textiles, hung Japanese inspired art to go with the two calligraphy prints already in the room, and styled the dresser with the new lamp and vintage toys.
I love to show a good before and after so here are a couple of angles with the bedroom empty, the bed set up by the delivery guys, and then made up.
Adding a new bed and lamp did wonders for the room and now I feel much better that our son’s room is more up to par with the rest of the house! Now he should be able to enjoy his new space after school and weekends and it did not take much effort at all. Thank you Rooms to Go Kids for making the process so easy.

Would a xl twin mattress (80″ x 39″) fit in this frame?
Thank you in advance!
There are only about 3-4 extra inches with our regular mattress so it would be a super tight fit.
