Easy Tips for Decorating Around a TV and Styling a Media Cabinet
Subtle and Neutral Decorating Option
Use accessories in the same color family. I chose one side of the tv cabinet for a grouping of vases/plants to create a larger scale.
“When in doubt, group accessories into a set of 3 or 5.”
The left side is balanced with interior decor books and a white vase.
Most of my colors are kept neutral but I love subtle pops of blues and greens. Keep the surrounding area in mind. Add items to your vignette to get a bigger picture. The blue pail (for toy storage) on one side of the stand pair well with the blue vases and keep the eye moving. Adding a big basket for throws balances out the entire space.
This looks has a nice minimalist approach and looks fresh and simple.
Eclectic with a Pop of Color Option
Here’s a different look with the same rules. A grouping of three on one side and something of a similar scale on the other side.
A floor lantern that I turned into a plant terrarium is super interesting and adding a faux plant, brass animal, and a Japanese paper fan makes it a little quirky and a good way!
The sides of the cabinet or flanked with a basket chest and guitars. You can see how it balances with the rest of the living room. Notice that all my accessories are roughly the same scale and consistency on all the flat surfaces.
