How to Refresh Your Home for Spring
Can you believe it’s already March? I’m thrilled to be back today to share my favorite ways to decorate for Spring without spending any money.
The easy DIYs and simple ideas can be done quickly and will make a lovely impact on your seasonal decor but not on your wallet. Let’s get decorating!
- Turn your cozy fireplace from fire ready to spring-ready by placing a house plant in place of or in front of your fireplace screen. Try a Boston fern in a pretty chinoiserie bowl for a pop of blue, white, and green Spring hues. Make sure to rotate every few days for even sunlight.
- Make a pillow swap with other rooms (or closets) in your house. Bring out any bright spring colors or florals to the main living area. Layer small prints with big prints, and bold colors over solid or neutral textiles.
- Update old Easter baskets with trim for a multipurpose display and egg collecting. Add tassels, or pom poms both are easy to make with thread or yarn. Use it for a perfect Spring centerpiece on your dining or coffee table. Replace the eggs with fruit or other decorative filler for late Spring and Summer.
- Transform cheap plastic Easter eggs into beautiful displays by decoupaging them with pretty paper, wrapped in ribbon tape, covered in moss, or hand-painted botanicals for a collection that can be out all season long.
- Paint an accent wall a bright Spring color with a leftover house and project paint. Try mixing craft paint color into white house paint for a custom tint!
- Repurpose an outdated wreath or floral arrangement into a fresh and modern spring garland. Pick your favorite stems and tie them to a long piece of twine, baker’s string, or ribbon. Hang on a shelf or mantel and style with home decor in Spring hues.
- Create a stunning tone-on-tone spring vignette by grouping decor pieces in the same spring-inspired color. Start with a wall hanging over an accent piece of furniture and add decor pieces in similar colors.
- Fresh flowers are beautiful for Spring but stems from your yard can be just as lovely. Assemble an easy floral or all-green arrangement for your living room by trimming whatever you have blooming and sprouting in your garden and displaying it in a beautiful vase or container.
Of course, any part of a home refresh is Spring cleaning. Make sure to check out this content for easy ways to organize and declutter your space. Find a complete guide and checklist for Spring cleaning at Home Made Lovely.
- Create a spring wreath without a wreath form by connecting long floral stems with wire in a round shape. Hang on a mirror, door, or right on the wall.
- Print a free Spring printable to place in an existing picture frame for instant seasonal art. Lean on a shelf or hang on the wall and enjoy the view. The perfect DIY for those who don’t have a lot of time!
Refreshing your home seasonally by using and repurposing what you already own is an economical way to keep a fresh and happy space. You might be surprised to find that you already have everything you need with a little creativity and some inspiration.
