Well hello there! I am so excited for this week. I have been crafting all weekend and can’t wait to share a full week of handmade Christmas Decor. So far everything I have made, was with materials I had on hand. You can bet all of the projects will be under $5 or free.
Here is today’s handmade decor….
That’s Sebastian, isn’t he cute? This project is so easy to make. You just need a few supplies:
Deer head silhouette (choose one online and print it off)
Buttons
Craft Glue
Canvas or cardstock
Scissors
Steps:
Cut out the silhouette and trace on your canvas with a pencil, lightly.
Layout your buttons and put them into place.
THEN (after you are satisfied with how the buttons look) squeeze a little spot of glue on each individual button.
Tip: I used needle nose pliers to pick up some of my buttons so the ones around it wouldn’t move.
Erase any remaining pencil lines.
If the glue you use doesn’t dry clear, wipe off any access that comes through the buttons holes.
Here is how Sebastian turned out. If Sebastian wanted to be Rudolph, he would just need a little red button for his nose!
Now, that Sebastian is ready, my buffet has a wintery vignette.
I seem to be keeping Christmas decor a little more simple this year. Sometimes less is more, right?
I don’t know if it’s kind of funny or morbid that I also have an antler from my old Sebastian (may he rest in peace) in the vignette too.
For this shot, I thought it would be cool to capture the Christmas tree in the mirror’s reflection.
Come back tomorrow for the next homemade decor or head on over to A Very Global Christmas page for 12 days of globally inspired decor, DIYs, recipes, and more! Have a great Monday.

What a cleaver idea and one I would have never thought of. This would be a great way to use all of the old buttons I have collected over the years. And I must say, I love, love, love the pic of the mirror and the reflection of your Christmas tree and piano. I’m lusting over your piano and I don’t even play. (I am, however, making sure that each grandchild plays an instrument). Have a great day!

Thanks Alli! That pic with the tree and piano took me a few shots but I loved the outcome. =) The reason I have a piano (and two music degrees) is because my grandparents made sure all of us took lessons. What a fantastic gift music is for children.

Excuse me while I pin the shiz outta this. I was just on the phone with my bestfran last night telling her I was gonna make a variation of this for her Christmas present.

What a very cool idea. I love button crafts but somehow never get around to doing it 🙂 Pinned maybe next year!

This one is soooo easy, took about 30 min, and now I have more room in my sewing box!
